Palm Sunday in Plymouth

Palm Sunday was traditionally celebrated on Derek's mom's side of the family. Everyone would get together and his grandfather would make malasades, which are awesomely delicious Portuguese fried dough.

Derek's cousin Joyce and Aunt Doreen have carried on the tradition. Due to work schedules we've had to miss out on the fun the last few years, but Derek was off this Palm Sunday so we all headed down to Plymouth to spend some quality time with the fam. The weather was gorgeous so we spent most of the day outside.

Joyce is amazing and so generous and put on a huge egg hunt for the little kids.

The kids played soccer and football and ran and ran and ran in the sun.

Until little legs got tired and a rest was needed :)

Joyce's neighbor has horses so the day ended on a high note.

It was a lovely day spent with family, and hopefully the kickoff of some warm spring weather!

Silas' Blog

Well it's been a busy 3 years since I last posted! Stay tuned as we may have more posts coming now that it looks like I have a new contributor... Silas recently read a book called "Starting Your Own Blog", and now he is bound and determined for us to let him start his own blog! We convinced him that he should start out by drafting content and a posting calendar. We made templates this morning and he wrote his first "post" today!

Summer Nights

As we hit the end of July we are relishing the relaxed summer nights around here. Walks to the corner store after work- Kitten snoozes in the window- Playing outside after dinner- And after dinner bike rides in the park aplenty. The best part is when they ride down the "big hill" out of the woods and we make the loop home. These are the days.

The context for this post is that S&Z started two weeks of daily swimming lessons in the outdoor town pool on Monday. The beginning of this week also happened to start with two of the coldest days of the summer!
