Through Their Eyes

I downloaded a few of the pictures that S&Z took today with their new cameras , and of course I had to post. It's interesting to see the world through their eyes... These are from Silas' camera-- He ended the photos of the day with a study of Momma. And these are from Zoe's camera-- I absolutely love them.  Pictures shot at random by 3-year-olds definitely have an artistic feel to them...

366: Day 274

9/30/12: A self-portrait. Sydney & Ivy gave S&Z early birthday gifts at our play date today - Crayola digital cameras!!!! When I told Silas this morning that we were going to visit Sydney & Ivy he remembered that he played with one of their cameras at a previous playdate and he was excited to play with it again. Little did he know that he would go home with his own camera!!! The memory card holds 180 pictures and he had filled it up by 7pm today. Many thanks to The G's for such awesome birthday gifts!!!

366: Day 273

9/29/12: Silas cooked "pizza salad" for the baby for lunch today, which included peanut butter, spinach, and cream cheese...

366: Day 272

9/28/12: S&Z were very excited to wear their rain coats this morning. By the end of the day, however, the reality of running errands in the cold, rainy weather had set in...

366: Day 271

9/27/12: Miss Ellen e-mailed the parents last night, "We have started our dictionaries and added the letter A. Apples have been a big part of 'A' week and on Thursday we will stamp with apples". Apples are fresh on S&Z's minds too since we went apple picking on Saturday. Silas was busy making apple pie with play-doh tonight when I got home, and Zoe showed me the t-shirts they made at school using apple stamps. So cute!!

366: Day 270

9/26/12: The fall on Tuesday night didn't slow Zoe down too much. On Wednesday she had fun trying on (and jumping in!) her "new-to-me" snow boots.

366: Day 269

9/25/12: Not a good night. The kids were running around after I got home from work and Zoe ended up taking a bad tumble. She landed on her face and actually knocked her front tooth hard enough that it moved inward. Thank god Derek was home with me when it happened. She was clearly in a lot of pain, but strangely it only bled a little bit along the gumline. The tooth was still secure at the root after she fell, it's just a little crooked now :( Her gums are also pretty bruised from the impact. I called my dentist the next morning to find out if there was anything they could do.  The dentist said to keep an eye on the tooth to make sure it doesn't start to discolor (a sign of a dead tooth), and to also make sure the pain doesn't persist past a few days (a sign of root problems). He said if it was his child he would try not to worry (easier said than done) and just keep an eye on things. She's been in a lot of pain since yesterday morning which is not helping

366: Day 268

9/24/12: S&Z had fun watching the corn muffins rise that they made with Daddy.

366: Day 267

9/23/12: Checking out the Halloween decorations that Grandma packed in the car to Boston with Grandpa Dave.

366: Day 266

9/22/12: Apple picking!

Apple Picking

Grandpa Dave arrived in Boston on Thursday night. We haven't seen him since Christmas, so we've been having a great time catching up this weekend! Silas helped him do some work on his iPad first thing this morning :) The weather looked like it was going to be pretty decent today so we decided to go apple picking. The farm we went to last year is over an hour from our house, so we decided to try Shelburne Farm that is not quite as far of a drive. We took a hay ride, And then it was time for apple picking! And apple eating! We picked a peck and then headed home with some warm cider doughnuts to munch on the way. Happy Autumn!

366: Day 265

9/21/12: Fun with Grandpa's!

366: Day 264

Silas wanted to be "like a burrito". He walked into the dining room with a fuzzy blanket wrapped around him, laid down in the middle of the floor, and said he was going to sleep.  Then Zoe went and sat on him (like any good sister would). The End.

366: Day 263

9/19/12 Make, make, make  some music...

366: Day 262

9/18/12: My babies had their first day of preschool today!

First Day of School!

Today was the first day of school! I'm glad they liked it. Only 20 more years to go! Derek dropped me off at work and picked up the kids by himself at 11:15. We didn't have a chance to connect before he went to work, so I have no idea how it went! Here's what I heard from them when I got home from work: -Silas got a boo-boo. He fell down on the playground and got black stuff in his hair (??). Miss Donna helped him up and gave him a hug and then he was okay again. -Two peoples were sad. One people didn't want water. -They washed their hands. There was magic soap. -Zoe got juice. -They both went pee-pee in the potty. The toilet doesn't flush too loud. -They did circle time. They sang and clapped their hands. Most importantly, "we had fun!"
