365: Day 170- Maryland Day 1

6/19/14: On Thursday it was hot hot HOT! We got the kids out for a walk in Tracy's neighborhood in the morning, Which ultimately started and ended at "the hole" on Tracy's street. She lives on a cul-de-sac and there is a broken portion of curb that fills with rainwater. The kids sat there and played for a long time, pretending they were making "spicy gumbo".  After lunch we got out the pools and sprinkler out in the backyard. It was a perfect first day of vacation!

365: Day 169- Trip to Maryland

6/18/14: Last Wednesday morning we loaded up the car and the kids for a summer road trip. One of my best friends, Tracy, lives in MD with her family so we headed down to stay with them for a long weekend. It was going to be a 7+ hour drive so we broke down and bought a dual-DVD system for the car. It ended up being a sanity saver (especially on the way home!). We made it there in just over 7.5 hours, just in time for dinner! The 3 "big kids" were instantly BFF's - and 20-month-old Delaney had a lot of action to watch over the course of our visit! It was a long day with lots of excitement, so everyone was pretty tired at bedtime...

365: Day 166- Happy Father's Day!

6/15/14: After a rainy few days in a row it ended up being gorgeous on Father's Day, so we decided to go strawberry picking. We checked out a different farm called C.N.Smith Farm in West Bridgewater. We absolutely loved it, mainly because there were very few people there! We picked 5.5 lbs of strawberries in less than an hour. When we were done picking we took a (FREE!) hayride tour of the farm. We were the only family on the ride! We sat and ate some strawberries before heading to out to meet up with Derek's family for Father's Day dinner. S&Z loved the roosters that were roaming free. Afterwards we headed to Fresh Catch for dinner with Derek's family. In honor of Father's Day I had to get a picture of the three generations of father-son duos (4 generations total!). We are so grateful that Derek's grandfather is still in good health! As usual, the 3 musketeers had a blast! We are so grateful for Derek an

365: Day 165

6/14/14: Derek and I had some clothes shopping to do today so we divided and conquered. Because I've lost so much weight this year S&Z are pretty accustomed to shopping with me and they have both become quite the little personal shoppers. Today Silas was with me and we spent a bit of time in Old Navy. After he gave me his opinion on all the things I tried on, he wanted to be sure to "try on" the tank top we picked out for him.  Sooooooooo cute!

365: Day 164

6/13/14: Our little fish was pretty excited to check out the new swimming goggles Daddy bought for her :)

365: Day 163

6/12/14: Snuggle time with Ta-ta!

365: Day 162

6/11/14: Reading books while I got ready for work on Wednesday morning.

365: Day 161

6/10/14: When I got home from work on Tuesday Zoe was very excited to show me her PIGTAILS! Silas didn't want to miss out on any of the hair action either!

365: Day 160

6/9/14: Back at the splash park with Ta-ta!

365: Day 159- Inaugural Beach Day!

6/8/14: On Saturday night a couple of our friends told us about South Shore Beach in Little Compton, Rhode Island. It sounded like such a special place that we decided to check it out the next day! We had some things to do in the morning, so we decided to head down there for a Sunday supper picnic. It proved to be such a perfect spot! We got there at 5:00 as the parking lot was clearing out. It had been in the high 80s that afternoon, so it was cooling down to more tolerable temperatures when we arrived. It was high tide so we set up our spot very near to where we were parked. So convenient! S&Z were so happy to jump the waves and play in the sand! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect first day at the beach...

365: Day 158

6/7/14: It was the opening day of the Roslindale Farmer's Market last Saturday. I was so happy to buy some fresh, local produce (mustard greens, radishes, harukai turnips), and S&Z were excited to be able to check out a Boston Police car! That evening we met up with some friends for a 40th birthday celebration/pub crawl in Cambridge. It was great to go out with some awesome people!
