Love Love Love!

Silas and Zoe have slowly been discovering that one another exists over the last few months, but it's now official -- they are totally into each other! They have been doing a lot of hand and finger play for the last 6 weeks or so, which naturally extends to their sibling's hands too! And it was only a matter of time before it turned into holding hands... And now the cuteness just never stops... On Valentine's Day, Serena needed to get on the action. They spoon, they cuddle, you know, the usual. More and more, they are also starting to have face-to-face social interactions with each other. They smiled at each other for the first time two weeks ago, and that was pretty cool! It will probably be awhile before I can get that on camera, however. Someone recently commented that everyone should have a twin: we would all know how to share and no one would ever be lonely... I truly wish that for Silas & Zoe in the years to come!

Aunties are the Best!

Auntie Stephanie came to Boston to visit us last week! It was the first time she met the babies in person. We had a GREAT time! Auntie S was a huge help with feeding, CUDDLING, taking S&Z out to run errands, etc. Silas liked playing smush face with Auntie S! Zoe loved being told how fabulous and beautiful she is :) On Monday night, Auntie Rachel joined us for dinner. The aunties fed and put the babies to bed and it was a wonderful break for me! Stephanie took charge of dinner and we all had a fabulous evening hanging out. Silas and Zoe are so lucky to have so many wonderful aunties in their lives! Auntie Timery came to visit yesterday. We are so happy to be passing along clothes and other baby gear to their baby boy who is due May 12th! Aunties Timery & Tracy also visited us in December. Auntie Tracy is expecting a baby girl on June 1st! Silas and Zoe are so excited to have new cousins to play with! We will be giving Tracy & Brock some baby practice when we go to visit them

The Back at Work Wrap-Up

My first week back at work went very well, all things considered. The 10am-4pm schedule was the perfect way to ease back into things. As much as I was dreading it, Monday ended up being a great day! The babies were napping when I left the house a little before 9:00, so I didn't feel sad having to say goodbye to them. It even felt good to be commuting again! It is wonderful to be back in lab. I am so fortunate to have co-workers that I love, and they welcomed me back with open arms. Unfortunately, though, Zoe has been sick since last Saturday. Both babies were fussy and crying when I left the house on Tuesday morning, so Day 2 was much harder after having such a good start to the week. I ended up taking her to the doctor on Wednesday and it seems she has a stomach virus that has been making its rounds through the JP community. The side effect of the virus is that she has horrible diaper rash which is making her far more miserable than the virus. As of last night Silas started vomiti

Stomach Viruses and Photo Shoots Do Not Mix

Silas and Zoe are 4 months old today! It worked out great that I don't work on Friday's so that we could continue doing our traditional photo shoot on their "birthday". Unfortunately though, Zoe has had a stomach virus since Saturday and Silas has been cranky the last couple of days so we think he's coming down with it as well. We learned today that stomach viruses and cute birthday photo shoots don't mix. No cute smiling pictures of our dynamic duo were obtained today. In addition, they were both vomiting/spitting up in the time leading up to taking pictures, so it was pretty tough to keep their clothes unspoiled! Here was Zoe chilling out this morning, waiting for her turn to get spiffed up. I decided they would both wear jeans and t-shirts for pictures today, now that they are getting to be "big kids". Jeans aren't very comfortable to nap in, however, so here is a shot of them getting up from their nap, bare legs and all. We tried to warm them
