Manuevers in the Kitchen

We spend a lot of time playing in the kitchen these days... It's plenty big, and we have it set up so that Silas & Zoe can crawl from the kitchen, down half the hallway and then go directly into the nursery. They play like little monkeys in the kitchen and hallway, and they like to sit and look at books in front of the bookshelf in their room. Silas & Zoe's two favorite things in the kitchen include the refrigerator and the dishwasher. As soon as they hear either of those two things open, you better watch out! Silas could be playing in the nursery or hallway when the dishwasher is opened, and you will immediately hear the pitter-patter of fast little crawling as he beelines your way! Derek happened to be making bottles, so the video turned into a perfect glimpse into how we manuever the two of them and their favorite kitchen appliances! Finally, I'm posti

Get Up, Stand Up!

Zoe has loved to stand since she was about 5 months old. This week, at the age of 10 months, she figured out how to pull herself up. She wanted to show off at her great-grandparents house on Friday, She loves standing by the bathtub too. Let's just hope she figures out how to get down on her own soon! As some of you know, little Miss Z can be full of drama at times. She cries and cries until someone comes and helps her down, and this is becoming a bit of a problem when it keeps happening during naptime! I'm sure Silas will be not too far behind his sister with this new development. He is a big boy and has more weight to pull up :) Silas will be having an MRI of his brain and spinal cord on September 12th in order to check out possible reasons for the tightness he continues to have in his l

The Purest Form of Comedy

I was showing Derek the "party in the kitchen" video I shot last night, and talking about how there is something so cute about babies laughing. He said that it must be the purest form of comedy. I think that this is true; there is no innuendo, no sarcasm, and no potty humor; it is humor in the simplest form. Here are two more videos from tonight. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!
