366: Day 366a

I should have waited until after our New Year's Eve dinner with friends to post today's picture. This would've been my choice for today :)

The Best of Project 366

2012 is coming to a close and I have officially completed Project 366 ! I managed to take and post and keep track of 365 photos out of 366 total days this year. I only missed one day and it was for a pretty good cause . Believe me, these pictures don't take themselves. I shot just under 7000 pictures this year. Once I got an iPhone in March all of the pictures were taken with my phone (~ 5500 pictures!). The camera on the iPhone is really good, I always have it with me, and I like playing around with the filters and other editing tools available in photography apps like Instagram, Camera+, Diptic, and Gridditor. Since I have put so much time, love and energy into Project 366 I thought I should select a few "Best Of's". I had a great time putting this together, and I hope you enjoy these highlights as well! 366: Day 366

12/31/12: T his entry marks the end of Project 366 (click here to see some of my favorite photos from this year).  We had an awesome New Year's Eve lunch at El Potro today. Apparently our family holiday traditions include a lot of mexican food! CHEERS TO A SAFE AND FAMILY &  FRIEND-FILLED NEW YEAR'S EVE!!!

366: Day 365

12/30/12: Yesterday was the first REAL snow we have had in over a year! We all had fun playing in the back yard. The kids can hardly wait to go sledding!

Christmas Day

On Christmas morning S&Z slept in until 8:30a because they went to bed so late on Christmas Eve. When they woke up they were very excited to find that it had snowed! They also discovered that Santa had eaten his cookies, filled the stockings, left a few presents under the tree, and decorated the tree with candy canes ! What they (repeatedly) asked Santa for was a pair of slippers. Of course Santa obliged. (Faithful blog readers may have noticed that there is a trend toward more pictures of Zoe than Silas these days. That is because Silas is officially uncooperative whenever the camera is out, whereas Zoe likes to ham it up a bit). There's nothing like a little chocolate for breakfast. The main Santa present was "My Own Leaptop" computers. Unfortunately Santa's elves didn't test out the computers before putting them under the tree, and one of them was broken. :( Zoe and Silas share most everything in their daily li

366: Day 363

12/28/12: We went to Home Depot this morning to buy sleds, so we are officially ready for snow! In close second, I finished Silas' cone hat last night. Both of them wore their hats all morning long.

A Traditional Christmas Eve

Due to Derek's work schedule it has been about 5 years since we have been able to spend a traditional Christmas Eve with his family. His two days off this week just happened to land on Christmas Eve /Christmas Day, so we were excited to head to Dighton, along with my parents, to have dinner at his grandparents house. This year I made a point to take as many family pictures as I could. Having everyone together this year was a gift that I want us to remember. S&Z were so great for most of the night. They had a blast playing with Uncle Larry, We did sticker books in the basement, And they helped pass out all of the presents. They kept everyone (and themselves) entertained with lots of ring around the rosie ! We didn't get home until 10:30p and the kids were beyond beat. They snuggled on the couch while we got the plate of cookies ready for Santa and pulled out "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to re
