365: Day 244

9/2/13: The weather did not cooperate for a Labor Day outing as we had hoped, but we did go out for dinner tonight at a restaurant called Ledge. The food was good and the kids were well-behaved, so it was a win-win dinner!

Proud does not even begin to describe how I felt when I received this month's workout summary today!!! In July-August 2012 I logged approximately 70 miles per month, so 82 miles is a personal record for me. I injured my foot last September and the power walking regimen I had worked so hard to establish was seriously restricted. Fast forward 10 months: since joining the Y in July we've been working our butts off and going to the gym 4-5 days per week. We've both lost a solid 5 pounds and we're only just beginning!

We convinced him that he should start out by drafting content and a posting calendar. We made templates this morning and he wrote his first "post" today!

Today Zoe chased the cats until they succumbed to her love and adoration. Today I put the garbage on the curb for weekly pickup and realized that we didn't have any! We recycle and compost far more than we throw away. I am grateful to be able to teach Zoe & Silas these habits. Empty trash barrel Countertop compost bin  Backyard compost bin that we bought at Town Hall Food compost, including the hair from Silas' haircut today! Today I checked on the rooftop vegetable patio garden - it's doing great! Today we went school supply shopping so that I can enjoy the last month of summer without worrying abou...

The context for this post is that S&Z started two weeks of daily swimming lessons in the outdoor town pool on Monday. The beginning of this week also happened to start with two of the coldest days of the summer!
