Patriot's Day

Patriot's Day (aka, Marathon Monday) is a Boston holiday. Children's Hospital, as well as many other local businesses, give employee's Patriot's Day off because it's basically impossible to navigate around the city due to the marathon. This year this equals a 4-day weekend for me (I'm usually off Friday-Sunday)!

Our friends Ricky & Heidi gave Silas & Zoe the cutest Red Sox onesies, bibs, and stuffed baseballs. Since there is a special Patriot's Day 11am game today, we dressed them up and took some pictures. It's also a big day for them because the TV is on! We never have the TV on when they're awake, so they happily playing on the floor right now watching the baseball game :)

Happy Patriot's Day from your favorite Boston Twins!!!

  1. There's no love for the Red Sox in our house, but holy cow - could they be any cuter? Super adorable pics. I'm sure it will be a fun baseball season.

Silas' Blog

Well it's been a busy 3 years since I last posted! Stay tuned as we may have more posts coming now that it looks like I have a new contributor... Silas recently read a book called "Starting Your Own Blog", and now he is bound and determined for us to let him start his own blog! We convinced him that he should start out by drafting content and a posting calendar. We made templates this morning and he wrote his first "post" today!

Today

Today Derek gave Silas his traditional mid-summer haircut. Today the weather was perfect and we enjoyed bike rides (them) / a walk (me) in the park after lunch. Today Zoe chased the cats until they succumbed to her love and adoration. Today I put the garbage on the curb for weekly pickup and realized that we didn't have any! We recycle and compost far more than we throw away. I am grateful to be able to teach Zoe & Silas these habits. Empty trash barrel Countertop compost bin  Backyard compost bin that we bought at Town Hall Food compost, including the hair from Silas' haircut today! Today I checked on the rooftop vegetable patio garden - it's doing great! Today we went school supply shopping so that I can enjoy the last month of summer without worrying abou...

Summer Nights

As we hit the end of July we are relishing the relaxed summer nights around here. Walks to the corner store after work- Kitten snoozes in the window- Playing outside after dinner- And after dinner bike rides in the park aplenty. The best part is when they ride down the "big hill" out of the woods and we make the loop home. These are the days.
