Houghton's Pond

I've been looking for a nearby swimming hole, so we decided to check out Houghton's Pond today. We got there at 9:30, which is about the time when lots of families start streaming in. We got a great spot on the beach and headed straight into the water.


After all the time we've spent around water so far this summer, S&Z are becoming quite the little fish. The swimming area here is nice and shallow for the little ones, so it's also really warm.


We packed a picnic and enjoyed the sunshine for a few hours. We even ran into a twin mom friend of mine, Stephanie, who was hanging out with her family!


There is a brand new set of outdoor showers and a bathhouse with family restrooms, so it was easy getting everyone cleaned up before heading back to the car. We live 20 minutes from here, and it's free! We will definitely be back again very soon!

The Best of Project 366

2012 is coming to a close and I have officially completed Project 366 ! I managed to take and post and keep track of 365 photos out of 366 total days this year. I only missed one day and it was for a pretty good cause . Believe me, these pictures don't take themselves. I shot just under 7000 pictures this year. Once I got an iPhone in March all of the pictures were taken with my phone (~ 5500 pictures!). The camera on the iPhone is really good, I always have it with me, and I like playing around with the filters and other editing tools available in photography apps like Instagram, Camera+, Diptic, and Gridditor. Since I have put so much time, love and energy into Project 366 I thought I should select a few "Best Of's". I had a great time putting this together, and I hope you enjoy these highlights as well! The Blog Book is Here!!!

My friend, Tom, told me about a website where you can order a bound copy of your blog. I've had it on my radar for awhile, but I finally just got around to making a book of the first year of entries. It starts with 'Icing on the Cake' , the last entry before they were born, and it ends with Halloween . It turned out better than I could have imagined! I cried when I opened it... One hundred ninety-four pages of love, photos, stories, and milestones!
