Awesome Weekend, Part II

Jeff and Megan had a BBQ for Keith and Rachel on Saturday afternoon, so we headed down to East Bridgewater when S&Z got up from their nap. Jack is 4-1/2 years old now, and the kids had lots of fun hanging out together.


They even found a toad!


A fire was being built and popsicles were being eaten around the time of their regular bedtime.


They were such troopers and stayed up WAY past their bedtime! I put them in their pj's around 9:30 and they still kept playing!


They didn't even fall asleep on the way home! They were in their cribs by 10:30pm (2.5 hours after regular bedtime), and slept until 8am (1.5 hours later than usual).

It was so great to spend time with some of our best friends this weekend! Many thanks to Jeff and Megan for having everyone over!

Today

Today I went to a yoga class for the first time in far too many years. It felt wonderful and pushed me out of my comfort zone. I can't wait to go back! Today Derek gave Silas his traditional mid-summer haircut. Today the weather was perfect and we enjoyed bike rides (them) / a walk (me) in the park after lunch. Today Zoe chased the cats until they succumbed to her love and adoration. Today I put the garbage on the curb for weekly pickup and realized that we didn't have any! We recycle and compost far more than we throw away. I am grateful to be able to teach Zoe & Silas these habits. Empty trash barrel Countertop compost bin  Backyard compost bin that we bought at Town Hall Food compost, including the hair from Silas' haircut today! Today I checked on the rooftop vegetable patio garden - it's doing great! Today we went school supply shopping so that I can enjoy the last month of summer without worrying abou...

Summer Nights

As we hit the end of July we are relishing the relaxed summer nights around here. Walks to the corner store after work- Kitten snoozes in the window- Playing outside after dinner- And after dinner bike rides in the park aplenty. The best part is when they ride down the "big hill" out of the woods and we make the loop home. These are the days.
