About Me

I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a cousin, a niece, a scientist, an "auntie", a home cook, and a friend.

I have been shaped by where I have lived, the places I have traveled, and by the people I have known.

I spent the first two decades of my life in North Dakota and the third in Minneapolis. When faced with where to spend the next 10, I decided to take a gamble and move across the country to Boston.

To say I hit the jackpot is an understatement. I met my future husband a few months after arriving; Zoe Lee and Silas Maxwell were born on October 5th, 2009; our one year wedding anniversary was a week later.

I started this blog at the beginning of my pregnancy to stay in touch with my family who are back in the midwest, and my friends who are scattered all over the world.

Become a follower, a subscriber, or just a stalker. Any way about it, I hope that you enjoy the stories, pictures, recipes, and videos from our adventures together!

Silas' Blog

Well it's been a busy 3 years since I last posted! Stay tuned as we may have more posts coming now that it looks like I have a new contributor... Silas recently read a book called "Starting Your Own Blog", and now he is bound and determined for us to let him start his own blog! We convinced him that he should start out by drafting content and a posting calendar. We made templates this morning and he wrote his first "post" today!

The Best of Project 366

2012 is coming to a close and I have officially completed Project 366 ! I managed to take and post and keep track of 365 photos out of 366 total days this year. I only missed one day and it was for a pretty good cause . Believe me, these pictures don't take themselves. I shot just under 7000 pictures this year. Once I got an iPhone in March all of the pictures were taken with my phone (~ 5500 pictures!). The camera on the iPhone is really good, I always have it with me, and I like playing around with the filters and other editing tools available in photography apps like Instagram, Camera+, Diptic, and Gridditor. Since I have put so much time, love and energy into Project 366 I thought I should select a few "Best Of's". I had a great time putting this together, and I hope you enjoy these highlights as well! The Blog Book is Here!!!

My friend, Tom, told me about a website where you can order a bound copy of your blog. I've had it on my radar for awhile, but I finally just got around to making a book of the first year of entries. It starts with 'Icing on the Cake' , the last entry before they were born, and it ends with Halloween . It turned out better than I could have imagined! I cried when I opened it... One hundred ninety-four pages of love, photos, stories, and milestones!
