365: Day 140- Field Day

5/20/14: The close of the school year was celebrated with Field Day last Tuesday. The two 3-year-old classes and S&Z's 4-year-old class enjoyed the festivities together. First there was a magician, Magician photo bomb! and then some sun & fun outside! Silas squeezed into the balloon animal line in between the two prettiest girls in his class :) Zoe & her and Silas' best friend, Lindsay Silas in a hula hoop contest! It was very sad to say goodbye to the wonderful teachers that S&Z have had for the last two years. Fingers crossed that Miss Murphy will be half as great as Miss Ellen ;)

365: Day 139- Preschool Graduation

5/19/14: Zoe & Silas graduated from Small Wonders preschool on Monday. We even got Zoe to wear a dress for the occasion! There was a ceremony at school, and the class sang several adorable songs (video coming soon). And then they got their diplomas! What a big milestone for S&Z! Feeling happy (and nostalgic!) as they get ready to start K1 in the fall...

365: Day 136- Last Day of Preschool

5/16/14: Friday was S&Z's last day of preschool (sniff sniff)...

365: Day 132

5/12/14: On Monday I was invited to a Mother's Day reception at S&Z's preschool. It was so nice to stop and enjoy the beautiful day!  Derek's mom was in town for an appointment so they were able to join us as well...

365: Day 131- Happy Mother's Day!

5/11/14: Derek had to work on Mother's Day so we decided to celebrate on his next weekend day off, which is tomorrow. Looking forward to family plans at a later date, we had a pretty regular day. There's always some of this- And usually some of that- I didn't feel like cooking so the kids and I went out for a rare dinner at a nearby restaurant. I feel very lucky to be a MOM to such great kids!! At preschool they completed some questions about me, and both of them just melted my heart! SILAS SAYS- I am 29 years old (why thank you!) My favorite color is purple My favorite food is bananas My favorite song is the ABC song My favorite place to go is the Arboretum My favorite thing to do with him is stickers I am the best ever because I am so nice to them... ZOE SAYS- I am 21 years old (why thank you even more!) My favorite color is red My favorite food is salad My favorite song is spanish My favorite place t...

And THIS happened!!!

365: Day 45- Happy Valentine's Day!

2/14/14: Silas was the VIP at school this week, so we headed over after lunch for Derek to read the story of Silas' choosing, "Rattletrap Car". When we got home from school S&Z had fun checking out all of their valentine cards & treats. They also got a few cards in the mail - thanks to the grandparents & Auntie Kristin! They LOVED getting your love mail!  After nap we got to work making birthday cards for Daddy... HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

365: Day 44

2/13/14: Another day, another snowstorm. I am beyond over it (as is everyone else I know). Zoe and Silas have only one more swimming lesson in this session, which is 7 weeks long. They are in the 'Pike' class, and today Zoe was promoted to 'Eel'! She is down to half the "bubbles" (flotation) from where she started, she swam the entire length of the pool, and she was the only kid in the class to jump into the pool from the platform! Way to go, Zoe! When I got home from work tonight I was soaking wet and super cranky. Thankfully S&Z played really nicely right up until bath time. They are working on the letter 'P' at school this week, so Silas brought a penguin and Zoe brought a platypus to school yesterday. They also played with the magnetic dress-up dolls. I've never seen them be so imaginative with this particular toy! I'm excited for Silas' VIP storytime tomorrow!

365: Day 41

2/10/14: S&Z have a valentine's party at school on Friday, so we started signing the cards for their classmates after work on Monday. Zoe can write her name - short and sweet. Silas can write 'ila' but he can't write the S's.  Zoe was a great helper and wrote the first and last 'S' in Silas' name; he filled in the 'ila'. We had quite the assembly line going in order to make some headway on doing 25 cards per kid (22 kids and 3 teachers). Silas' cards turned out so cute - Zoe used a green marker to write the S's (backwards), and Silas used a blue marker which then smeared because he's a leftie. True twin teamwork!

365: Day 40

2/9/14: On Sunday afternoon we had a fun (and long overdue!) playdate with our dear neighbor friends, Josef & Nick. S&Z were excited to play with some new toys, including these lightsabers. The kids were WILD, so at the end of the afternoon we let them wind down with an iPad game. Silas is the VIP this week, so after dinner we finished up his poster board. Say "VIP"!!!

365: Day 31- Zoe the VIP

1/31/14: Zoe was the VIP at school this week, so I got to come after lunch on Friday and read a book. When I arrived it was nothing less than controlled chaos. The 3 (amazing!) teachers were getting the (22!) kids bundled up, because the school day ends after story time. Zoe picked the book "Snowstorm Surprise" for me to read. It was so fun to share this book with Zoe and Silas' "school mates" (that is how Zoe generally refers to the kids in her class)! Derek had the day off so we went out for a VIP dinner at Bukhara. Our cute little VIP even wore her crown once we got home and snuggled in our pj's!
