365: Day 210

7/30/13: Happy at the park with Ta-ta! ***** Cook's Notes : When I came across this recipe on the Eating Well Facebook page, I wasn't sure how it would turn out. The mixture of ground turkey and tofu sounded strange to me, but the ingredients in the sauce sounded interesting and flavorful. It turned out delicious, I served it on brown jasmine rice. I will definitely make this again! 365: Day 141

5/22/13: It has been rainy and gloomy most of the week, which means the kids have been sleeping in later. I had to go in and wake them up at 7:30 on Wednesday morning, and a certain somebody didn't want to get up. It cleared up enough for Julia to take them to the park after nap, though. Zoe was on a sandcastle kick, and Silas was not...

Splash Pad

On Friday night Kristin came to visit for a few hours. We had such a great time catching up, and she stayed until after midnight! On Saturday we headed over to Cambridge where Iris was hosting a playdate since Kristin was in town. We all met at a splash park near Iris' house. S&Z were very tentative at first - I hadn't even brought their swim clothes because I didn't think they would be interested in the fountains. Kristin inched them forward bit and bit, however-- Next thing I knew they were running around yelling "soaking wet, soaking wet"! We were happy to finally meet Peter's new baby brother, William And Jason's new baby sister, Natalie. Iris and Timery had their babies on the same day (!), and they are about 6 weeks old now. The kids were getting tired so we headed back to Iris' house for lunch. S&Z were exhausted following a fun morning with friends :)

366: Day 189

7/7/12: Splash park!

Today

Today started with Zoe jumping out of her crib and scaring the crap out of everyone. All week she has been pretty cranky and throwing tantrums leading up bedtime. As a result, she has tried crawling out of her crib as I'm putting them to bed at night. Each night I've explained how she will get a big boo-boo if she does that, and she responds by insisting that it would only be a little boo-boo. When I heard the clunk and crying I ran in and found her standing up, really scared but okay, She's got a red mark on her cheek and I won't be surprised if it turns into a bruise. She's only crawled out of her crib one other time - last summer I think. None of us are ready for toddler beds, so I'm hoping she scared herself enough to not do it again! Today we had gorgeous weather so we headed over to Cambridge for a playdate with Iris and Peter and Timery and Jason. Peter and Jason are close in age (~almost 2 years) and they will both be big brothers within a week of each...
