Food Cutting

Iris, Steve & Peter gave S&Z an amazing belated birthday present! It's the Melissa & Doug Cutting Food Box.

Melissa and Doug Cutting Food Box Game, Ages 36 months - 5 years

They absolutely LOVE it. "Cut food, more cut, cut food" is all I hear when they want to play with it!


This is a brilliant gift for kids around 2 years of age. The wooden food velcro together so they are very easily "cuttable". The only issue I had for twins is that the toy came with one cutting board and one knife. We deal with this all the time! Thankfully I had just bought Silas a little green cutting board at Target before Thanksgiving, and I had a spatula that is very similar to the wooden knife. 


Everybody is beyond happy and it has already provided hours of kitchen fun!

Well it's been a busy 3 years since I last posted! Stay tuned as we may have more posts coming now that it looks like I have a new contributor... Parks

We decided to get Zoe's haircut on Saturday morning at a place geared towards kids called Snip-Its . Neither Derek nor I anticipated what a meltdown Zoe was going to have. The haircut is half-assed at best and Derek will have to fix it when she's more calm. We were so traumatized that we headed to the park to get the day going on a better foot! We went back to Larz Anderson, the park where the  Psychiatry picnic was held on Thursday . It is really close to our house and is lovely and shaded. I think it's one of my new favorite spots! The kids like it too :) S&Z love playing with wood chips, so there was a lot of that! Snacks were enjoyed on the bench and I tried to get a few pictures of the haircut... Excuse me, I'm chewing pretzels :) This morning we met up with Wendy, Dave, Sydney & Ivy at the Newton Center Playground. It was HOT HOT HOT, and there wasn't too much shade. The Best of Project 366

2012 is coming to a close and I have officially completed Project 366 ! I managed to take and post and keep track of 365 photos out of 366 total days this year. I only missed one day and it was for a pretty good cause . Believe me, these pictures don't take themselves. I shot just under 7000 pictures this year. Once I got an iPhone in March all of the pictures were taken with my phone (~ 5500 pictures!). The camera on the iPhone is really good, I always have it with me, and I like playing around with the filters and other editing tools available in photography apps like Instagram, Camera+, Diptic, and Gridditor. Since I have put so much time, love and energy into Project 366 I thought I should select a few "Best Of's". I had a great time putting this together, and I hope you enjoy these highlights as well!
