365: Day 230

Derek took Silas in to see the pediatrician this morning. He was diagnosed with impetigo (highly contagious) and a related lymphangitis. Either he was misdiagnosed by two doctors in the ER yesterday as having contact dermatitis, or the dermatitis got infected. Dr. R. cultured one of the blisters on his arm to see if staph is the underlying cause of the impetigo. Both Derek and Zoe are symptom-free, but I had to leave work midday because I have a lesion forming on my neck. I have an appointment with my PCP tomorrow, although I'm 99% sure that I've picked up the same bleeping bacteria. Thankfully the house was cleaned today, and we're washing hands and replacing linens like crazy.

Silas was in rough shape this morning, but he was ready to play after quiet time (he didn't actually nap today). We set them up in the backyard with the makings for a car wash.

Meanwhile, I worked on the back deck and Derek took pictures of a spider on the windowsill.

Who knows what tomorrow will bring...

Silas' Blog

Well it's been a busy 3 years since I last posted! Stay tuned as we may have more posts coming now that it looks like I have a new contributor... Silas recently read a book called "Starting Your Own Blog", and now he is bound and determined for us to let him start his own blog! We convinced him that he should start out by drafting content and a posting calendar. We made templates this morning and he wrote his first "post" today!

Auntie Tracy's Visit

Tracy is one of my best friends, but I haven't seen her in person in two years ! This means that I hadn't met her daughter, Brynn, who turns 2 in June. I was sooooooooo excited when I found out that Tracy and Brynn would be visiting Tracy's sister, Timery this weekend. We decided to meet at Mall Tots  again so that the kids could run around and we could catch up. It's a 45 minute drive and it was a beautiful day, so the kids were hunkered down with sunglasses, snack and stuffed animals on the ride up. Zoe and Brynn initially got acquainted in the bouncy house, And then Zoe pushed her around in a car.   Of course my kids (and husband!) had plenty of distraction with the video games too. We packed up the kids and then had lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings before heading back home. Timery and Tracy are like sisters to me. What a fantastic day!!!

The Best of Project 366

2012 is coming to a close and I have officially completed Project 366 ! I managed to take and post and keep track of 365 photos out of 366 total days this year. I only missed one day and it was for a pretty good cause . Believe me, these pictures don't take themselves. I shot just under 7000 pictures this year. Once I got an iPhone in March all of the pictures were taken with my phone (~ 5500 pictures!). The camera on the iPhone is really good, I always have it with me, and I like playing around with the filters and other editing tools available in photography apps like Instagram, Camera+, Diptic, and Gridditor. Since I have put so much time, love and energy into Project 366 I thought I should select a few "Best Of's". I had a great time putting this together, and I hope you enjoy these highlights as well!
