365: Day 227- A Day at the Beach

Derek was off today so we headed to Horseneck Beach. I feel the end of summer creeping up quickly, and days like today help put the brakes on a little...


It was windy and rocky and not too busy.


The water felt good and we collected rocks and shells for a long time.


Derek has worked 10 days in a row so he was ready to to chill out and relax. 


Luckily the kids are old enough now that we can finally do a little of that. We are trying to teach them how to just "be" sometimes. 


Pretty awesome.

Auntie Tracy's Visit

Tracy is one of my best friends, but I haven't seen her in person in two years ! This means that I hadn't met her daughter, Brynn, who turns 2 in June. I was sooooooooo excited when I found out that Tracy and Brynn would be visiting Tracy's sister, Timery this weekend. We decided to meet at Mall Tots  again so that the kids could run around and we could catch up. It's a 45 minute drive and it was a beautiful day, so the kids were hunkered down with sunglasses, snack and stuffed animals on the ride up. Zoe and Brynn initially got acquainted in the bouncy house, And then Zoe pushed her around in a car.   Of course my kids (and husband!) had plenty of distraction with the video games too. We packed up the kids and then had lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings before heading back home. Timery and Tracy are like sisters to me. What a fantastic day!!!

The Best of Project 366

2012 is coming to a close and I have officially completed Project 366 ! I managed to take and post and keep track of 365 photos out of 366 total days this year. I only missed one day and it was for a pretty good cause . Believe me, these pictures don't take themselves. I shot just under 7000 pictures this year. Once I got an iPhone in March all of the pictures were taken with my phone (~ 5500 pictures!). The camera on the iPhone is really good, I always have it with me, and I like playing around with the filters and other editing tools available in photography apps like Instagram, Camera+, Diptic, and Gridditor. Since I have put so much time, love and energy into Project 366 I thought I should select a few "Best Of's". I had a great time putting this together, and I hope you enjoy these highlights as well!
