365: Day 22


1/22/13: I normally get the kids up at 7:30, but Silas woke up at 4am and started a conversation with Zoe so all 3 of us were up for a bit early this morning. There was a 90% chance that Derek would keep Zoe home from school since Silas was sick, so I decided to let the sleeping beauties rest a little later. I peeked in at 7:50 and they were sound asleep. I decided to let them sleep in - Derek texted me when they woke up at 8:15. It was only the second time ever that I didn't see them in the morning before going to work! They were upset when they discovered I wasn't there, so we had a quick phone chat when I got off the bus :)

Today

Today I went to a yoga class for the first time in far too many years. It felt wonderful and pushed me out of my comfort zone. I can't wait to go back! Today Derek gave Silas his traditional mid-summer haircut. Today the weather was perfect and we enjoyed bike rides (them) / a walk (me) in the park after lunch. Today Zoe chased the cats until they succumbed to her love and adoration. Today I put the garbage on the curb for weekly pickup and realized that we didn't have any! We recycle and compost far more than we throw away. I am grateful to be able to teach Zoe & Silas these habits. Silas' Blog

Well it's been a busy 3 years since I last posted! Stay tuned as we may have more posts coming now that it looks like I have a new contributor... Silas recently read a book called "Starting Your Own Blog", and now he is bound and determined for us to let him start his own blog! We convinced him that he should start out by drafting content and a posting calendar. We made templates this morning and he wrote his first "post" today!

Summer Nights

As we hit the end of July we are relishing the relaxed summer nights around here. Walks to the corner store after work- Kitten snoozes in the window- Playing outside after dinner- And after dinner bike rides in the park aplenty. The best part is when they ride down the "big hill" out of the woods and we make the loop home. These are the days.
