Gateposts, Grapes & Graveyards

My mom is a big history buff, so for her upcoming 65th birthday I decided to send her on a surprise tour of Concord, MA. Better Homes & Gardens had an article about various autumnal tours in the September issue, and Gatepost Tours was a locally featured company. Gateposts, Grapes & Graveyards sounded like fun walking tour so I made arrangements for her and Dave to go on a Sunday morning tour while Derek & I entertained the kids.

When we got to Concord we found out that Mom & Dave were the only ones booked for the morning tour, so they got very personalized service with a 2-to-2 ratio!


While they toured and we waited for a local restaurant to open for lunch, the kids had fun playing with sticks.


And playing with Daddy :-)


My parents loved the tour and my mom was so happy!


Happy (early) birthday, Mom!!!!!! I'm so happy we could celebrate with you!

Parks

We decided to get Zoe's haircut on Saturday morning at a place geared towards kids called Snip-Its . Neither Derek nor I anticipated what a meltdown Zoe was going to have. The haircut is half-assed at best and Derek will have to fix it when she's more calm. We were so traumatized that we headed to the park to get the day going on a better foot! We went back to Larz Anderson, the park where the  Psychiatry picnic was held on Thursday . It is really close to our house and is lovely and shaded. I think it's one of my new favorite spots! The kids like it too :) S&Z love playing with wood chips, so there was a lot of that! Snacks were enjoyed on the bench and I tried to get a few pictures of the haircut... Excuse me, I'm chewing pretzels :) This morning we met up with Wendy, Dave, Sydney & Ivy at the Newton Center Playground. It was HOT HOT HOT, and there wasn't too much shade. The Best of Project 366

2012 is coming to a close and I have officially completed Project 366 ! I managed to take and post and keep track of 365 photos out of 366 total days this year. I only missed one day and it was for a pretty good cause . Believe me, these pictures don't take themselves. I shot just under 7000 pictures this year. Once I got an iPhone in March all of the pictures were taken with my phone (~ 5500 pictures!). The camera on the iPhone is really good, I always have it with me, and I like playing around with the filters and other editing tools available in photography apps like Instagram, Camera+, Diptic, and Gridditor. Since I have put so much time, love and energy into Project 366 I thought I should select a few "Best Of's". I had a great time putting this together, and I hope you enjoy these highlights as well!
