Hot Hot Hot

As it has been across much of the country these days, it's hot hot hot here in Boston. It's 90 degrees at 8:30pm as I write this post. It was too hot this morning to bring the kids to the park, so Derek hung out on the back deck where they could stay cool with the water table. They were looking ready for some hot weather this morning!


After breakfast they had fun playing with Daddy's laundry basket before heading outside.






Where's Zoe?!

I was happy to hear that Grand Forks had cooled down as of this morning. Hopefully the more moderate temps will be eventually making their way east!

Today

Today I went to a yoga class for the first time in far too many years. It felt wonderful and pushed me out of my comfort zone. I can't wait to go back! Today Derek gave Silas his traditional mid-summer haircut. Today the weather was perfect and we enjoyed bike rides (them) / a walk (me) in the park after lunch. Today Zoe chased the cats until they succumbed to her love and adoration. Today I put the garbage on the curb for weekly pickup and realized that we didn't have any! We recycle and compost far more than we throw away. I am grateful to be able to teach Zoe & Silas these habits. Empty trash barrel Countertop compost bin  Backyard compost bin that we bought at Town Hall Food compost, including the hair from Silas' haircut today! Today I checked on the rooftop vegetable patio garden - it's doing great! Today we went school supply shopping so that I can enjoy the last month of summer without worrying abou...

Summer Nights

As we hit the end of July we are relishing the relaxed summer nights around here. Walks to the corner store after work- Kitten snoozes in the window- Playing outside after dinner- And after dinner bike rides in the park aplenty. The best part is when they ride down the "big hill" out of the woods and we make the loop home. These are the days.
