365: Day 213- Last Day in MN

8/1/14: This morning we headed down to a Minneapolis icon, the Mall of America! Dad & Mary took the kids on the Sea Life tour (unfortunately no pictures because I stayed behind to do some shopping with Stephanie). Afterwards we headed to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch.


Silas is obsessed with all things mechanical, so I finally gave in to let him make a "souvenir" coin out of a penny.


Of course we had to hit Lego Land and the amusement park, formerly known as Camp Snoopy!


It was a super fun afternoon! 

We got back to Sue & Bob's house from the MoA just in time for one last boat ride.


It has been such a fun and memorable week with my family. I am so grateful to spend this time with everyone in one of my favorite places on earth! Already dreaming of next year...

Today

Today I went to a yoga class for the first time in far too many years. It felt wonderful and pushed me out of my comfort zone. I can't wait to go back! Today Derek gave Silas his traditional mid-summer haircut. Today the weather was perfect and we enjoyed bike rides (them) / a walk (me) in the park after lunch. Today Zoe chased the cats until they succumbed to her love and adoration. Today I put the garbage on the curb for weekly pickup and realized that we didn't have any! We recycle and compost far more than we throw away. I am grateful to be able to teach Zoe & Silas these habits. Empty trash barrel Countertop compost bin  Backyard compost bin that we bought at Town Hall Food compost, including the hair from Silas' haircut today! Today I checked on the rooftop vegetable patio garden - it's doing great! Today we went school supply shopping so that I can enjoy the last month of summer without worrying abou...

The context for this post is that S&Z started two weeks of daily swimming lessons in the outdoor town pool on Monday. The beginning of this week also happened to start with two of the coldest days of the summer!
