2/15/14: Derek got a big birthday wake-up from a couple of cuties.
We went to the "fire restaurant" (i.e., the teppanyaki place) for Derek's birthday and Silas' VIP lunch.
I wish I could say that Zoe had a better reaction this time around. Instead, she's old enough now to stand back from the fire alone (until Silas went to stand with her, that is).
Eventually they both came back over to the table, but Zoe was pretty traumatized by the whole experience.
We had a relaxing morning at home, then S&Z watched a cooking show while we got ready to go out for birthday lunch.
Yup, Martha Stewart's cooking show on public television. And they bawled their eyes out when we shut it off.

During lunch they practiced using chop sticks which is about the cutest thing ever.
Derek went to work in a snowstorm and we stayed in the rest of the day. The new craft table is getting some serious mileage this winter!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DADDY!!!
