365: Day 5

1/5/14: Silas seems to have croup that turned into bronchitis because now he's got a fever. I am having total flashblacks to last January when they collectively missed over 3 weeks of school. But bless Silas' heart, he really perks up with a little ibuprofen.

An apple a day... a little too late.


Auntie Rachel and Uncle Keith got the kids walkie talkies for Christmas. Best twin gift ever!!!

At the bedtime temp check Zoe registered 100.2 and Silas 100.5. You have never seen a child SO HAPPY to have a fever. She gleefully got medicine along with Silas, and then made a BIG production when we got in the bedroom about how she shouldn't have chosen footed pajamas and she needed to change (we have a "no footed pajamas when you have a fever" rule). Apparently no school for either of them tomorrow... This is where our crappy work schedules really pay off - I've covered all weekend while Derek worked and now he'll pick up tomorrow when my work week starts.

Well it's been a busy 3 years since I last posted! Stay tuned as we may have more posts coming now that it looks like I have a new contributor... Silas recently read a book called "Starting Your Own Blog", and now he is bound and determined for us to let him start his own blog! Parks

We decided to get Zoe's haircut on Saturday morning at a place geared towards kids called Snip-Its . Neither Derek nor I anticipated what a meltdown Zoe was going to have. The haircut is half-assed at best and Derek will have to fix it when she's more calm. We were so traumatized that we headed to the park to get the day going on a better foot! We went back to Larz Anderson, the park where the  Psychiatry picnic was held on Thursday . It is really close to our house and is lovely and shaded. I think it's one of my new favorite spots! The kids like it too :) S&Z love playing with wood chips, so there was a lot of that! Snacks were enjoyed on the bench and I tried to get a few pictures of the haircut... Excuse me, I'm chewing pretzels :) This morning we met up with Wendy, Dave, Sydney & Ivy at the Newton Center Playground. It was HOT HOT HOT, and there wasn't too much shade. The Best of Project 366

2012 is coming to a close and I have officially completed Project 366 ! I managed to take and post and keep track of 365 photos out of 366 total days this year. I only missed one day and it was for a pretty good cause . Believe me, these pictures don't take themselves. I shot just under 7000 pictures this year. Once I got an iPhone in March all of the pictures were taken with my phone (~ 5500 pictures!). The camera on the iPhone is really good, I always have it with me, and I like playing around with the filters and other editing tools available in photography apps like Instagram, Camera+, Diptic, and Gridditor. Since I have put so much time, love and energy into Project 366 I thought I should select a few "Best Of's". I had a great time putting this together, and I hope you enjoy these highlights as well!
