365: Day 46- Derek's Birthday


2/15/13: Nothing says Happy 37th Birthday like tempura-fried cheesecake!

Our day started off with S&Z's Friday morning sports class. I shot a quick picture of them driving the scooters using frisbees as the steering wheels.


Then we met Joanne & Denny at a Japanese steakhouse for birthday lunch. S&Z did so great using the starter chopsticks! 


Derek was supposed to work tonight but he was able to take a holiday at the last minute. He's actually off this weekend, so today kicked off a 3-day birthday weekend! Tomorrow night we are going out for dinner and bowling with Jeff & Megan - first date night since October! 

Happy birthday, darlin'! We love you so much.

Parks

We decided to get Zoe's haircut on Saturday morning at a place geared towards kids called Snip-Its . Neither Derek nor I anticipated what a meltdown Zoe was going to have. The haircut is half-assed at best and Derek will have to fix it when she's more calm. We were so traumatized that we headed to the park to get the day going on a better foot! We went back to Larz Anderson, the park where the  Psychiatry picnic was held on Thursday . It is really close to our house and is lovely and shaded. I think it's one of my new favorite spots! The kids like it too :) S&Z love playing with wood chips, so there was a lot of that! Snacks were enjoyed on the bench and I tried to get a few pictures of the haircut... Excuse me, I'm chewing pretzels :) This morning we met up with Wendy, Dave, Sydney & Ivy at the Newton Center Playground. It was HOT HOT HOT, and there wasn't too much shade. The Best of Project 366

2012 is coming to a close and I have officially completed Project 366 ! I managed to take and post and keep track of 365 photos out of 366 total days this year. I only missed one day and it was for a pretty good cause . Believe me, these pictures don't take themselves. I shot just under 7000 pictures this year. Once I got an iPhone in March all of the pictures were taken with my phone (~ 5500 pictures!). The camera on the iPhone is really good, I always have it with me, and I like playing around with the filters and other editing tools available in photography apps like Instagram, Camera+, Diptic, and Gridditor. Since I have put so much time, love and energy into Project 366 I thought I should select a few "Best Of's". I had a great time putting this together, and I hope you enjoy these highlights as well!
