We have a couple of books that are essentially illustrated song lyrics. My friend Rachel just gave us "Blowin' in the Wind" - you can't but help to sing the song as you're reading the book. We also have "Over the Rainbow" - it's a tougher tune to sing (well), but it's also catchy so the kids have started singing it on their own. Here is my new favorite video of all-time. They are just singing away while looking at random books, as our favorite bedtime c.d. plays in the background.
They also sing "Tomorrow" once in awhile - here is just a glimpse of Zoe playing around and giving it a go.
First and foremost, Derek is an amazing musician. My sister is a classically trained flutist, I played the clarinet all through high school, my mom loves to sing, my great-grandmother played the piano, and Derek's brother and parents are all great singers as well. I hope S&Z lucked out and inherited some musical genes!!!
