We decided to have a stay-home day today, so it's always entertaining to see what the kids come up with during extended periods of play time. First they decided they wanted to put their shoes on, which meant they tried to get out of their pajamas on their own.
Once they were in the shoe bin, they came across their sunglasses,
Which led them to the outerwear. For whatever reason Silas decided to put on Zoe's hat and mittens.
A little later, Derek was working on our taxes and I was in the living room. We checked on them when they were a little too quiet in the nursery. It turned out that they were quietly reading books on the bean bags. How sweet. Next thing we knew, however, Silas was stacking all of their books in the hallway, as Zoe chanted "bye-bye books" over and over.
They emptied the entire bookcase.
"Why?", I find myself asking when they do stuff like this.
I think the reason that 4-year-olds ask "why" 437 times per day is because their parents were asking them why all the time (rhetorically, of course) when they were 2-year-olds!
