Home Sweet Home

I was wrong when I said in my last post that life doesn't get better than that. It does. And it definitely got better today!

Zoe is home. Home. Sweet. Home.

Her discharge from the hospital was unremarkable, aside from the fact that her team ordered a few final tests in the Nth hour, which prolonged her discharge until almost 3pm. Considering I had been up since 3am, I was more than a "little" ready! Apparently Zoe was ready as well, because her eyes were as big as saucers and she was so curious about the whole process!




Vanessa came over with Oliver and watched Silas for us while we picked up Zoe, so she snapped a few pics of us settling in.



Serena seemed unphased by the addition of baby #2.


Derek and Zoe got some father-daughter time.


And before I knew it, he was holding down the entire fort!


We decided it was bath night so that was quite the whirlwind of activity giving baths x2! Whew. It will be awhile before either of us can do that alone! After baths and feeding, Silas and Zoe promptly fell asleep, again looking as cute as can be.



We surely have a few exciting days ahead of us!

    Amazing day! I'm so happy for you all :) The close-up of Silas and Zoe sleeping side-by-side is so adorable!!

The Best of Project 366

2012 is coming to a close and I have officially completed Project 366 ! I managed to take and post and keep track of 365 photos out of 366 total days this year. I only missed one day and it was for a pretty good cause . Believe me, these pictures don't take themselves. I shot just under 7000 pictures this year. Once I got an iPhone in March all of the pictures were taken with my phone (~ 5500 pictures!). The camera on the iPhone is really good, I always have it with me, and I like playing around with the filters and other editing tools available in photography apps like Instagram, Camera+, Diptic, and Gridditor. Since I have put so much time, love and energy into Project 366 I thought I should select a few "Best Of's". I had a great time putting this together, and I hope you enjoy these highlights as well! Sickness Update

We saw the pediatrician again this morning - it was our 4th visit in as many weeks. Both kids have an antibiotic-resistant sinus infection. Zoe also still has an ear infection after 5 days of meds; thankfully Silas' double ear infection is finally gone after the 10-day round of amoxicillin. While in the waiting room, we noticed that a rash had appeared on Silas' arms and trunk. Since this coincided with being on meds, Dr. Rundquist had to assume it might have been related to the amoxicillin. Silas was going to get a non-amox antibiotic for the continued sinus infection, and because it's easier to have them on the same meds they were both prescribed Suprax. Silas' O2 saturation was also down a little and he was wheezing during the exam. Apparently he also has broncholitis and he'll be treated with albuterol. He was given a nebulizer treatment in the doctor's office that he tolerated amazingly well at the end of a very long doctor's visit (we were there for 2 ...
