CSA - Week 3

Last Thursday our box contained,
spring garlic
kale
fennel
lettuce
cilantro
parsley
bok choy
haruki turnips
rainbow swiss chard
garlic scapes
pea shoots

I was probably most excited about fresh pea shoots and haruki turnips, and least excited about more bok choy. I made tortellini with turnip greens (+ other non-farm share stuff like red onion, chicken sausage, cherry tomatoes and mushrooms) - that was really yummy!



It always amazes me how much the greens cook down.



Of course we've had salads galore and more veggie bagels. Tonight I'm cooking up the bok choy as I would with chard or any other greens. Keep it simple. Feeling tired and little uninspired - very much looking forward to having a 4-day weekend!!!

The Best of Project 366

2012 is coming to a close and I have officially completed Project 366 ! I managed to take and post and keep track of 365 photos out of 366 total days this year. I only missed one day and it was for a pretty good cause . Believe me, these pictures don't take themselves. I shot just under 7000 pictures this year. Once I got an iPhone in March all of the pictures were taken with my phone (~ 5500 pictures!). The camera on the iPhone is really good, I always have it with me, and I like playing around with the filters and other editing tools available in photography apps like Instagram, Camera+, Diptic, and Gridditor. Since I have put so much time, love and energy into Project 366 I thought I should select a few "Best Of's". I had a great time putting this together, and I hope you enjoy these highlights as well! The Blog Book is Here!!!

My friend, Tom, told me about a website where you can order a bound copy of your blog. I've had it on my radar for awhile, but I finally just got around to making a book of the first year of entries. It starts with 'Icing on the Cake' , the last entry before they were born, and it ends with Halloween . It turned out better than I could have imagined! I cried when I opened it... One hundred ninety-four pages of love, photos, stories, and milestones!
