365: Day 267

9/25/13: It has been an aggravating 24 hours for us due to an unusable kitchen sink. Of course S&Z "helped" Mike when he came over this morning to figure out what's going on.

Poor Mike

Apparently the garbage disposal was the cause of water pouring out of the lower cabinet last night, so thankfully a new one was installed by the time I got home from work.

It was a school day there were art projects to see when I got home. The class read "Rainbow Fish" at school today, so they got to make their own fish with shiny fins too.

I've had a pesky cold all week, but I dug deep to push through to keep up the Fitbit-inspired activity! This is my weekly summary-

Today I logged 15,000+ steps, which is over 7 miles. To say my feet hurt is an understatement!

I've been making veggie wraps for lunch at work this week. I brought in a container of vegetables at the start of the week, including carrots, red pepper, radishes, cucumber, tomato, red onion, avocado, pea shoots, and mixed greens. I layer hummus and a slice of low-fat swiss cheese on a whole wheat tortilla and then pile on the veggies. It's a delicious and healthy lunch, along with a piece of fruit (apples, anyone?), and yogurt and a few almonds for a mid-afternoon snack!

Silas' Blog

Well it's been a busy 3 years since I last posted! Stay tuned as we may have more posts coming now that it looks like I have a new contributor... Silas recently read a book called "Starting Your Own Blog", and now he is bound and determined for us to let him start his own blog! We convinced him that he should start out by drafting content and a posting calendar. We made templates this morning and he wrote his first "post" today!

The Best of Project 366

2012 is coming to a close and I have officially completed Project 366 ! I managed to take and post and keep track of 365 photos out of 366 total days this year. I only missed one day and it was for a pretty good cause . Believe me, these pictures don't take themselves. I shot just under 7000 pictures this year. Once I got an iPhone in March all of the pictures were taken with my phone (~ 5500 pictures!). The camera on the iPhone is really good, I always have it with me, and I like playing around with the filters and other editing tools available in photography apps like Instagram, Camera+, Diptic, and Gridditor. Since I have put so much time, love and energy into Project 366 I thought I should select a few "Best Of's". I had a great time putting this together, and I hope you enjoy these highlights as well! The Blog Book is Here!!!

My friend, Tom, told me about a website where you can order a bound copy of your blog. I've had it on my radar for awhile, but I finally just got around to making a book of the first year of entries. It starts with 'Icing on the Cake' , the last entry before they were born, and it ends with Halloween . It turned out better than I could have imagined! I cried when I opened it... One hundred ninety-four pages of love, photos, stories, and milestones!
